The only way to purchase Girl Scout Cookies is from registered Girl Scouts participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Program® during your local council’s cookie season. To find cookies and learn when cookie season starts in your community, visit girlscoutcookies.org.

We prepare our cookies for each annual cookie season. Each Girl Scout Cookie™ package is stamped with a seasonal “Use or freeze by” date that corresponds with each cookie season. For example, Girl Scout Cookies with a date of Sept. 1, 2024, are for the 2023 - 2024 season.

For all varieties of our cookies, there are 12 packages per case.  The size and weight of the case varies by cookie.

All of our packaging includes information about allergens in two locations: as ingredients in the ingredient line and, underneath the ingredient line, in a “Contains” statement (for SAMOAS®, for example: “CONTAINS WHEAT, COCONUT, MILK, AND SOY INGREDIENTS”). The allergen “contains” statement clearly lists any of the top nine allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, eggs, cow’s milk, wheat, soybean, fish and shellfish) present as ingredients. Allergen information is also available on the Girl Scout Cookie Order Form, on the Girl Scout Meet the Cookies website, and in the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app.

If you are concerned about a specific ingredient, please review the ingredient statement and the “contains” statement to determine if that specific ingredient is part of the product recipe. We encourage consumers with food allergies to always check the ingredient statement on each package because product recipes may change.

Moreover, some of our products have additional allergen disclosures, either in the form of a “may contain” statement or a statement that says that the product is “manufactured in a shared facility with [for example, peanuts and eggs].” These voluntary statements provide information beyond what is required by law about the circumstances of the cookie’s production. Using SAMOAS® cookies again as an example, the labeling discloses in its ingredient line and its “Contains” statement that the cookies contain wheat, coconut, milk, and soy as ingredients. The labeling also informs consumers that the cookies are “manufactured in a shared facility with peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, and eggs.” While the cookies do not contain peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, or eggs as ingredients, there is a possibility that extremely low levels of peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, or eggs are present. Little Brownie bakes Girl Scout Cookies in state-of-the-art facilities, and consumers can be assured that we follow all of the FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practice regulations in order to prevent cross-contamination of ingredients.

All packaged foods in the U.S., including Girl Scout Cookies, are required to include an allergen disclosure (“Contains” statement) listing any of the top nine food allergens present as ingredients in the cookies. We also voluntarily disclose on all Girl Scout Cookie labels if the cookie was “Made in a shared facility with” any of the top nine food allergens to provide transparency to consumers about common allergens that may be present in the bakery where Girl Scout Cookies are made.

No. Customers will be buying the same Girl Scout Cookies from Little Brownie that they know and love—and purchase year after year—with no changes to their production process.

No. Girl Scout Cookies baked by Little Brownie Bakers do not contain high-fructose corn syrup.

We use no artificial flavors in the Girl Scout S’mores® sandwich cookies, the Do-si-dos®, the gluten-free Toffee-tastic® Girl Scout Cookies or the Lemon-Ups® Girl Scout Cookies.

All Girl Scout Cookies baked by Little Brownie Bakers are certified as kosher dairy except Thin Mints® Girl Scout Cookies, which are certified kosher pareve.

Girl Scout Cookies baked by Little Brownie Bakers are labeled “zero grams trans fat per serving,” in accordance with the FDA guidelines on how to declare “zero grams trans fat.”

No. The Girl Scout Cookies baked by Little Brownie Bakers (all varieties) do not contain partially hydrogenated oils.

Little Brownie Bakers understands that people with diabetes have special dietary needs and food preferences, which commonly include sugar-free products. Unfortunately, we currently do not offer a sugar-free Girl Scout Cookie. 

Palm oil is used as an ingredient in our cookies because of its unique ability to provide volume and texture in baked goods, usually without adding trans fats. However, all Girl Scout Cookies baked by Little Brownie Bakers are RSPO Certified (Mass Balance) for palm oil. This Mass Balance System ensures that the palm oil Little Brownie Bakers uses contributes to the production of environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable palm oil.

RSPO stands for Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, a global association established in 2004 with the objective of promoting the growth and use of sustainable palm oil products through credible global standards and engagement of stakeholders. The RSPO logo signifies that Little Brownie Bakers has “contributed to the production of certified sustainable palm oil.” In order to use the logo, Little Brownie Bakers bakery was audited by the RSPO to ensure its compliance with the RSPO criteria. Little Brownie Bakers is part of the global confectionery and branded-chocolate company Ferrero Group. Ferrero is committed to working on the challenges to end deforestation in the cocoa sector, as well as to implementing key principles and strategies that underpin socially and environmentally sustainable cocoa production. In 2017, Ferrero Group released its action plan to fulfill its commitment to the Cocoa and Forest Initiative signed between leading cocoa and chocolate companies and the governments of Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana. The collective aim is to end deforestation, restore forest areas and create better lives for farmers and their communities in these cocoa-producing countries, with a particular focus on women and youth.

Currently, there are genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in the Girl Scout Cookies baked by Little Brownie Bakers. We recognize that many people have concerns regarding GMO ingredients, and we continue to monitor industry trends, scientific findings and consumer preferences.

It is important to note that there is worldwide scientific support for the safety of currently commercialized ingredients derived from genetically modified agricultural crops. The World Health Organization, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, U.S. National Academy of Sciences and American Medical Association all share this assessment. In addition, in the future, GMO crops may offer cost-effective alternatives to feeding the world’s growing population and hold the potential for helping to meet our long-term food needs more sustainably. 

Today, most of our packaging contains recycled fiber or 100% recycled paperboard. Most of the recycled packaging material is made up of a mixture of newspaper, office paper, cardboard and printed wastepaper from publishers and printing companies. Our packages are usually accepted by recycling facilities that accept magazine or mixed paper. The plastic trays are all polystyrene 6 (PS 6) and can be recycled if your local recycling facility takes #6 plastics. We provide instructions on how to recycle our materials on many of our packages. Many Little Brownie materials are printed on paper made from recycled materials as certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

We have a few different types of packaging for our cookies! Both our glossy film overwrap and our classic paperboard packaging are strong and recyclable while preserving the quality and freshness of our cookies.

Yes. The Girl Scout Cookies baked by Little Brownie Bakers are Halal certified by the Islamic Food & Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA).

Like other specialty products, our gluten-free cookie varieties and Girl Scout S’mores® cookies may be priced higher than other Girl Scout Cookies, reflecting the cost of production and/or specialty ingredients.

Yes. Little Brownie Bakers offers gluten-free Toffee-tastic® Girl Scout Cookies to all of the Girl Scout councils we serve. First introduced in 2017, Toffee-tastic cookies are crispy, buttery cookies packed with golden toffee bits. To find out if this gluten-free cookie is available in your area, please contact your local Girl Scout council.

Toffee-tastic cookies have been certified gluten-free by the third-party organization NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) and verified through testing as meeting the FDA guidelines for labeling gluten-free. Toffee-tastic cookies have been certified gluten-free by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF), a third-party organization that verifies through rigorous testing of the production line and the finished product that the cookies meet FDA guidelines for labeling them gluten-free. Toffee-tastic cookies are baked on a production line that is thoroughly cleaned between production runs and tested to make sure the line is free of gluten.
