How to support her

This season, and every season

Family Image

Families are an important part of the tradition, values and fun of Girl Scout Cookie Season. Whether that season is virtual, in-person or both, there are lots of ways you can support your Girl Scout. And we have resources to help you do just that!

Here are some quick tips to help your Girl Scout get the most out of her Girl Scout Cookie™ experience.

Encourage goal setting
Goal setting is an important life skill. She’ll go far if she knows how to set a goal and reach it. Ask about her troop’s goals and help her set personal goals. Help her fill in her goals on her order card or on Digital Cookie®, and encourage her to share her goals with customers.

Earn and learn together
The Cookie Entrepreneur Family pin collection was inspired by and designed for families just like yours! It’s never been easier to support your Girl Scout as she develops business skills, makes amazing memories and earns a different pin for her uniform every cookie season. The simple, age-specific guidelines have been tailored for her developing skill set, making success a snap. Visit girlscouts.org to learn more.

Support her business skills
She needs you on her side as she develops the confidence to ask people for orders, either in person or online. Here are just a few ways you can help:

  • Offer her guidance as she works on her sales message
  • Recommend potential customers she can email within her personal network (friends and family)
  • Support troop efforts like drive-thru booth sales

Volunteer
Her troop is sure to need volunteers willing to pick up Girl Scout Cookies®, chaperone booth events and more.

Help her get started online
Digital Cookie® helps girls superpower their cookie sales as they go beyond the booth with mobile and online channels. On the platform, girls can set their cookie goals, track their progress, manage orders and inventory, learn Internet safety skills and more — all while they earn age-specific Cookie Business badges and explore ways to help others by investing their earnings back into their communities. Practice safety
Be a role model for safety and good decision making. Review Girl Scouts’ safety rules with your Girl Scout, and help her follow them.
