LOUISVILLE, KY – New Year’s Day has come and gone, but Girl Scout Cookie fans can hold on to their streamers and confetti. Little Brownie Bakers, a licensed Girl Scout Cookie baker, is celebrating five fantastic years of Toffee-tastic gluten-free cookies on Jan. 8, 2019, which is also National English Toffee Day. National Gluten-Free Day just happens to fall on Jan. 13.
The Toffee-tastic birthday celebration is part of the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program® that is led by girl entrepreneurs from all over the country. The 2019 Girl Scout Cookie Season officially started on Jan. 2.
Party kicks off with a recipe video for a birthday cake
Although available only once a year, Toffee-tastic is the nation’s fourth best-selling gluten-free cookie, according to 2018 Nielsen data and a Little Brownie sales report. Little Brownie is honoring the cookie’s success and five-year birthday with a recipe video for a triple-layer Toffee-tastic cake that cookie fans can make at home. The video is highlighted on the Little Brownie website and will also be shared on the Samoas® Facebook page.
A fantastic answer to demand for gluten-free products
Toffee-tastic cookies were developed to satisfy the taste preferences of those who follow a gluten-free lifestyle. Sales of Toffee-tastic cookies have continually increased since their introduction in 2014, and this growth reflects the fantastic flavor of the cookie and popularity of gluten-free products in general.
In January 2017, Forbes.com published results of a study that found the number of Americans going gluten-free has tripled since 2009. Research published by IFT in August 2018 indicates the trend is here to stay.
