Where do your cookie ingredients come from?

Our raw materials are sourced from a variety of suppliers. For competitive reasons we do not disclose details about the sources of our ingredients. However, you should know that to ensure the highest quality products, we require our suppliers to follow all applicable regulations, including those set by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP). In packaging our products, we follow the FDA Nutrition and Labeling Education Act guidelines to report ingredients and nutrition information.

We want to assure you that Little Brownie Bakers has complete supplier approval programs. All of our suppliers must meet stringent requirements which include third party audits, food safety and compliance to all applicable regulations, regardless of the country of origin. We are confident that the suppliers we work with are providing us with high quality materials meeting our specifications.

We will continue to work with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to stay abreast of any issues and provide customer updates as necessary. What about ingredients from China?

To address recent concerns regarding the safety of food ingredients, Little Brownie Bakers has conducted an audit of our raw ingredient suppliers. While Little Brownie Bakers does not import finished food products from China, we do source acesulfame potassium used in the Sugar Free Chocolate Chips variety from China.

What are you doing about the environmental effects of oils?

We take our commitment to the environment very seriously. We are aware of concerns in regards to the environment and the source of palm and palm kernel oil. Our palm oil suppliers are members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, a group working to promote the growth and use of sustainable palm oil.

Are any of your ingredients produced by companies employing child labor?

Child and slave labor are deplorable and we totally support their eradication. We are not aware of receiving any ingredients produced under these conditions. This remains an issue that goes beyond the work of any one company to combat.
